Finding the best wireless router on the market is not an easy task. I've been looking for one because mine uses the old 802.11b protocal. The new ones are many times faster and the signal also go far longer then my current setup. I mostly use it for connecting my laptop to the internet but am toying with the idea of hooking my desktop to it also to reduce the clutter of wires. There are many different types and deciding on which one to buy is not the easiest decision. Wireless-A (802.11a), Wireless-B (802.11b), Wireless-G (802.11g), Wireless-N (802.11n), WirelessN+ (802.11n 2.0) are some of the choices and all brands are not the same. It is usually better to pick the same router as the wireless card you have as many manufacturers fine tune the connection for their own cards If you are looking for a bargain then you'll want to check out the items I have listed on this site. Many are new but some are used because it is not very often that routers break. There is a constant supply of them from new sellers so if you don't find what you want then check back in a day or two. You might want to look into the seller ratings and reviews to be sure they are a decent seller. Also, don't worry about finding the best wireless router in the world. Just make sure it will cover the distance and speed that you need and you'll be all set. If you don't find what you want then go straight to the source. |
